Love like Children

Love like you are children He said

With a pure simple heart, not a complicated head

Love like a child, what does that mean?

And what do kids know, aren’t I much more keen?

I think of how a child looks at their realm

And have vision of so much good it can overwhelm

They see joy in the smallest of things

And accept new people without any strings

What would the world look like if adults did the same?

And didn’t treat love like its just a big game?

Children see value in everyone they meet

Whether they are at church or out on the street

Why are our eyes clouded with judgment?

And to love someone takes so much obvious intent?

Its no longer easy as it once seemed to be

And I wish I could once again have the eyes of a child to see

But the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control. Against such things there is no law.” -Galatians 5:22-23
